'What the fuck is this shit?'

Ben Patashnik at NME has written an article about us on his blog "Notes From the Underground".

Have a read here: http://www.nme.com/blog/index.php?blog=134&title=apologies_i_have_none_free_very_shouty_m&more=1&c=1&tb=1&pb=1

Favourite line: I put their latest EP 'Two Sticks And Six Strings' on the office stereo and as many people tapped their feet (and probably thought inwardly of revolution and setting really rich people on fire) as came up to me saying, 'What the fuck is this shit?'

I think that says it all.

Green Green Mabley Green is now streaming.

The second song we're streaming from our EP is now up on the myspace:

www.myspace.com/apologiesihavenone

You can still buy it though!!

Mabley Green is a patch of grass in Hackney mostly used for walking dogs and for big football sessions every weekend. Its now got a big rock in the middle of it that got put in after we moved a few roads away. I'm not sure what the rock symbolizes or what it , but at least its a rock and not a housing development. In slightly unrelated news...

This video was shot in Switzerland, in a resort called Davos, right up in the Mountains. Its PJ and Gaby as a full-band, with me and Josh playing drums and bass. The new stuff Pj and Gaby have been writing has been coming along really well, its very, very different to their earlier songs and lends itself to being played as a full band easily. I'm really excited about playing with them at the moment.

We have managed to get a few songs on the go too, which basically never happens because we take forever getting anything new on the go. We should be playing a new song at our next few shows so the nerves are kicking already.

Double Posting

This is a short, poor quality video from our last show at the Fawcett in Southsea. Sorry about the shakeyness and bad picture...compression does odd things to HD footage.

This is a song from bangers set, The Hard Way:

Alter The Press review of "Two Sticks and Six Strings"

Hi. Our record has had a few good reviews but I thought I would share this one, it's our first ever "full marks" review:

http://www.alterthepress.com/2009/04/album-review-apologies-i-have-none-two.html

If you are reading this review and are a fan of the much loved band 'Against Me' then I might as well save you a bit of time and tell you that these are going to be your new favourite band so go buy this release right now. Right, now that’s out of the way let’s get down to a proper review. Apologies, I have none, despite having only a five song EP previous to this, are my ninth most listened to band according to Last.fm, which gives you an idea of just how good I think this band is.

For those of you who don’t know much about this band, they are a two-piece that have gained a pretty substantial following armed with just a guitar, drums and a whole lot of woah-oh’s/gang vocals/handclaps and have the reputation of being two of the nicest blokes in music, they even apologised that I paid £4 for this release rather than getting it for free because I was reviewing it.

The EP kicks off with ‘100 Club’ which is a track that pretty much sums up what this band are all about. The song is upbeat and positive with it’s lyrics of; ‘you can’t deny a hundred fists in the sky’ and believe me, if there’s any band that can get a hundred fists in the sky then this is it.

Next up is a personal highlight of pervious EP 'Done' and without a doubt my favourite Apologies, I have none song ‘Bent Strings.’ I’m not going to lie, I don’t like this new version as much as I loved the previous version, but that’s just me being an elitist fan who can’t accept change, because this is a better song musically, it’s tighter, and despite losing some of it’s bite has kept it’s woah-oh’s.

‘Green Green Mabley Green’ is next up and it brings back the acoustic guitar that was so apparent in the first EP, I’d say the song wouldn‘t sound out of place on ‘Reinventing Axl Rose' if it wasn‘t for the glockenspiel making an appearance at the end. ’Apologies, I have one’ is definitely my favourite song on the EP, not much to say aside from the fact it’s near perfection.

The EP ends in the same fashion it started with 'Rearranging The Dust’ and again it’s upbeat, positive, has all the aspects that make this band so special, to top it all off just as you think the EP has came to a finish they bring in handclaps and more gang vocals, it couldn’t be a more perfect end.

To be honest, I really can’t rate this release highly enough, and I just hope that everyone reading this ends up feeling the same way that I do about this band. Even if this EP doesn’t propel this band into the mainstream, it’ll propel them into my top five on Last.fm and that’s good enough for me.

5/5

Bangers? Yeah!

Our weekend with Bangers has come to an end. As far as "weekend tours" go, it was an absolute fail. We only did two shows, Bristol and Southsea, and we went home each night due to daytime commitments, however the shows were so much fun. Some of the show got filmed, so I'll see if anything is worth uploading to the infoweb at some point this week. We're already talking about another tour with Bangers sometime later in the year, which will involve actually staying away from home and doing more than 2 dates and I am excited about that already. if you have been sleeping under a rock and have missed out on "Punk+Bowls biggest hit" then check them out: http://www.myspace.com/bangersbangers

Next up, we got to Peterbrough to play with Late 90s and our friends The Apostates and then its the Defiance, Ohio show in London. We might try a new song at these shows and that fills me with a mix of excitement and terror. Crossing fingers.
