Buy our shit.

Hi. We now have T-shirts and bags for sale. Ema (who did our CD artwork) hand screened them herself a few weeks back before we went to Switzerland. The shirts themselves were leftovers from a t-shirt printing stall that Ema ran at Truck Festival so the number of different sizes and colours is a little random. These shirts are not sweatshop free, despite the claims of the wholesaler who sold them and so we will be donating £2 per shirt to No Sweat, an active movement against sweatshops worldwide. No Sweat have been campaigning and putting on events to raise money and awareness of these issues and we're pleased to be involved with them and
will be playing 2 of their upcoming benefit shows. (See Gigs for dates and venues).

Our next batch of shirts will be sweat free, but we still aim to remain involved with No Sweat in whatever way we can. You can get our stuff here.

Thanks.

Some Photos from Switzerland

Almost everywhere you go in Switzerland, on any day, you can see the mountains in the distance. It was awesome.

We're on iTunes

You can now get "Two Sticks and Six Strings" on iTunes by clicking the icon below. We used a company called "EmuBands" to arrange our CD being available on iTunes and I cannot recommend them enough. Check their site here

For those that buy the record from iTunes and want to make their own box for it, the JPG of our artwork is available for you to print out and fold up if you want to.

Switzerland was fun...

...and now we are back at home and back to work. I cannot wait to go back into Europe, driving to gigs has never been so beautiful and everyone we met went right out of their way to make us feel at home. I'll post up some photos soon once I have sifted through 3 cameras and several memory cards to pick out the ones that are worth sharing. "100 Club" is still downloadable, I'll leave it up for a bit longer for anyone who hasn't downloaded it yet. Dan.

Geneva is 614 Miles Away

Our good friends PJ and Gaby asked us a few months back if we were up for traveling to Switzerland to play a few shows with them. We'd been practicing their songs as a full band (with Josh on drums and me on bass) for a while and it was good fun, so we said "yes" and it got booked almost immediately. They then booked us our own show and then 2 more shows. It's like having a booking agent who arranges your backline, flights and a place to stay, for free. Awesome. Thanks PJ+Gaby! Anyway we go on the 14th April really early, have a practice, shoot to the gig (with Joey Cape) and play. Nothing like cramming in a weeks worth of stuff into a day. I have heard that geneva is ball-breakingly expensive so any thrifty tips should be forwarded to cheapbastards@apologiesihavenone.co.uk

Leg 2 - Tour Diary

The second leg of our took us to Norwich. We have played there a few times, the first was an acoustic "tour" put on by Jugs, where we played songs outside pubs with Sam Russo, collecting people as we went until we had played 5 or 6 places and gathered quite a crowd. We played our last songs on the stairs of a bank and by this time we were drunk, hoarse and completely happy. It was an awesome night and since then Norwich, Jugs and everyone we met has held a special place in this bands heart. We played the Marquee with Bomb The Music Industry last year and so I was really excited to come back and play, this time with Mike TV. Mike Scott played as well and it was the first time we had seen him plugged in. Mike is such an interesting artist and he really killed it tonight. The crowd was thin the whole night but it seemed to fill up a bit for Mike and us which was good.

The Peterborough show was put in by Jordy - if you haven't met him yet you are in for a treat, the guy is a legend. The show was predominantly hardcore - Attack Vipers and Beasts were the co-headline and it was packed. A free show on a Friday makes a lot of sense and it was awesome fun.

We headed to Kierans house very late for sleep and then a killer breakfast before driving to Manchester for the all-day event put on by "Last Lung". The whole day was just awesome and totally packed. It was a tight schedule and we had to have a 2 hour break for the football which was a rule imposed by the venue (which incidentally was almost completely full of people who were there to see a punk show). We left for home before the end because Josh was starting to become completely monochrome but we stuck around to see the Arteries who just smashed it.
Another tour ends and its back to work again. I've been back a week now and I literally cannot wait to get back "on the road" (kill me for saying that). Thanks to everyone that came to see us, bought our CD and sang along. Extra thanks to everyone that put us on and put us up. This sort of thing just cannot happen without people being willing to take almost strangers into their hearts and homes and putting their time and money into it. You keep this rolling - thank you.

Tour Diary 1

Our first official tour stop was Brighton at the Cowley Club - a collectively run and operated venue/bookstore/open space. Neil Sutherland and JG Harding joined us on this one. The cowley club is apparently under heavy financial stress at the moment, so I urge everyone to go and check it out if you are local - its a friendly environment and establishments like this are essential for likeminded people to gather and organise.

Luke from Break The Habit put us up for the night and took us to the local "rock" club for some dancing, power ballads and drinking. Thanks Luke.

The next day we drove Neil back to London and went to pick up our CDs that should have been delivered in time for the Brighton show. Apparently they had been delivered to our next door neighbours (who leave the house in the early morning and don't get home till the late evening) so we crossed our fingers that someone would be in to give us the CDs before we drove to Cambridge. Their cleaner was in, who ignored our repeated attempts to get her to answer the door. Eventually we resigned ourselves to the fact that our box of CDs was impossible to reach and so we got ready to leave for Cambridge. Just as we were about to get in the car, our neighbour turned up and saved the day. Awesome!

Sam Russo put on the Cambridge show and as it was his birthday the turn out was awesome. Sometime Never Headlined and smashed it but I think the night belonged to Sam who just played his heart out to a packed room of people. He just keeps getting better and everyone really needs to see him live.

We have played Glasgow before on our last tour at an acoustic show in a cafe. I was really sick that day and the whole time we were in Glasgow was a bit of a blur so it was good good to come back and see the city through healthy eyes and lungs and play again, with drums. Kenny and Sarah of This Is Our Battlefield put us up and fed us and put on a great show with some local acts, Citizens and Grozny. A very mixed bill and a good turnout meant the ghosts of my last visit were put to rest. Thanks again to Kenny and Sarah, especially for the personalised cakes.

Newcastle is one of my favourite places to play, despite having only played there once before while sick (see above). Mark (Newcastle Get Rad Crew) and JC (Discount Horse) always put on well attended shows with awesome line ups. Their format of electric/acoustic/electric/acoustic line ups worked a treat again and showed again that larger, mixed bills can work and that diversity keeps things interesting. This was easily one of the best line ups we have played on - High Risk Existance, Fashanu (first gig), Mega games 2, Pure Graft and Onsind. Despite having to play a shorter set before having to get out before the club night started, it was awesome fun.

Harry from Beneath The Blaze (pictured below) put us on next in Hull, so we drove South with JC in tow who decided to tag along with us a for a few days. Hull was nothing like I thought it would be, although I was asleep in the car when we came in, and it was dark when we left. We'll leave it at that. The gig was good fun and we drove to the Mega Games 2 house after to stay the night.

The last show on this leg was in York at the City Screen Basement Bar. The line up was almost entirely acoustic and low-key and we both started to feel awkward about our amps and drumset being the complete opposite of everyone that had played prior to us. JC stepped in for the MG2 as Murf got sick and played a blinder of a set as "Winona Forever" with Harry on Melodica for the last song. Our apprehensions about playing with drums seemed to be needless though - there was no mass exodus when we played and I think we went down ok. You just can never, ever assume anything about how a gig is going to go I guess.

Then it was back to the Mega Games house for some beers and a late night stroll into town with JC at 3am and then a 4 hour drive home at 11am in the morning. We head back out for the last few dates in a few hours - Norwich, Peterborough and Manchester. Theres more photos from the tour here

It feels like forever since we started recording the new EP and even longer since we started writing it. Its so easy for these things to take a lifetime when you get side tracked by working, playing shows and the usual day-to-day stuff we get bogged down by but its done now. It feels like we can finally breath a little easier and start focusing on what's next, finally. The new Ep, Two Sticks and Six Strings is available from the "shop" link above from our online store as well as our previous effort, Done. We're streaming the first song "100 Club" on our Myspace page now.

We go on tour now for about 2 weeks around England and up to Glasgow in Scotland. Its our longest tour and the only one we have done on our own without our usual tour tag-team partner Sam Russo. It should be good fun - we get to play with some really awesome bands and good friends whilst we're away and the 1000 miles of driving and lack of sleep will be completely worth it. If you want us to play your venue, party or whatever, let us know.

This site is still sort of "in the works" - we'll be adding stuff and keeping it up to date so please keep checking back, we'll be making an effort to put photos and news up regularly from our shows.

Now we pack the car up and drive to Brighton to play the Cowley Club with Neil Sutherland and JG Harding. Good times. Dan
